WR&C’s managing director is Dr Peter Webster. Peter worked for many years in the university research and library sectors, for the British Library, the Institute of Historical Research and the School of Advanced Study (University of London) and the University of Sheffield. Much of his work was in facilitating the relationship between management, technologists and users of digital resources for research, helping organisations to understand their user’s needs and designing services to meet them.

In that time, he was a development project manager, an institutional repository manager and a user interface designer, as well as a policy developer, partnership builder, workshop facilitator, trainer and public speaker.

He is also an historian of contemporary British religious history, and has published widely, as well as being a regular book reviewer, seminar convener and peer reviewer. He has been a member of the advisory boards of several learned societies, academic journals and other digital research projects, including the Open Library of the Humanities. He is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society.
